I took an old (bulk) macaroni box, cut the top off, spray painted the inside white and the outside black.

Then took a wire hanger and straightened it out - cut it to just slightly longer than the long end of the box. - Poked it through each side of the box and bent the ends up a bit.

Then cut out the rectangular holes for the ribbon to dispense through!

Looks much better when it's full of ribbon!
