Cutout necks for long/hooded shirts

My friend Brittany loves "retro" styled shirts and so she gave me a couple that she wanted me to do for her.

But it was a little tricky because they both had hoods.
Anyway, nevermind the default picture, I forgot to take pictures of the finished product haha

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Brittany's shirt has a hood and it's long sleeves, so it's a little more difficult to do than if it were short sleeves without a hood.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

First rip out the seams binding the hood to the neck.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Rip out the seams that keep it from fraying at the neck too.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Measure an inch or an inch and a half all around the neck. Then pin the fabric back.

  5. Step 5

Stitch it all up and you're good to go!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by retro styled shirt, because you don't have a final pic.

There are a lot of different styles that are considered retro... so.. yea I'm confused. Lol. I think if I see the final pic, it will just make more sense. :D
