This is a super quick repurpose project: making a clutch out from pants (with interesting features-lace or sequins)or from old jeans. Super quick that it can be done in half in hour time.
1
Take a pants-mine is a ridiculously unwearable with lace-y all over. But, it's well-tailored and has romantic vibe, of a fine lace and with lovely lining, just lovely. It would be great to turn it into clutch.
2
Cut 12inch out from one of the pant legs?? Sorry,I think it sounded akward, but anyhow, here it is.
3
Turn it inside out, and sew across the bottom.
4
Now it pretty much like a clutch already.Fold the other half to the point where your want the cover to be. Mine is 5 1/2inch. Rip the seam off.
5
Flip it inside and sew..It gives the clutch a sturdier texture now that the fabric is double-layered.
6
Work on the cover, I did mine ordinarily, an envelope-y type
7
There's many options of how to secure the cover/flip to the body; brooch, magnetic closure, frog buttons, velcro, or snap buttons.
I ended up stitching a purple ribbon at the centre and tying it bow.The color just popped out and i love it.
