Old Belt made New!
 <  Image 1 of 4  >

This belt was a hand-me-down. It took a while but i think it was worth it. I was inspired by the colors of cobra starships new album cover "Hot Mess". I used the colors in the title which i showed here in the 4th picture.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Start with an old belt..... This one had cool patterns and in itself was cool but it was totally not my style. From the worn leather to the color it was just not me.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Begin painting the belt the color of your choice. I chose black bacuase that is what i felt would look good for the look i was going for.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Finish Painting the belt (I havent figured out how to get the paint of my rug)

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

I used white out to paint in the existing patterns because I tried acrylic paint and it made the black smear off for some reason. So I used white out:)

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

I forgot to take pictures here for a while. But you can fill it in. Paint with colors of your choice. And you are done! I plan to seal this somehow. Any suggestions??

Try sealing it w/ some sort of Spray Sealant/Protective Finishing Spray. You should be a able to find it at a Craft/Fabric Store. By the way- I love this Idea! Nice Job!
