You Will Need
-
Step 1Start out with a t-shirt that is too big for you.

Step 2Fold the t-shirt inside out and lay it down on a flat surface. Place another t-shirt (one that fits you properly) on top of the large t-shirt.

Step 3Trace the outline of the smaller t-shirt on to the larger t-shirt with chalk.

Step 4Place dressmaking pins along the outline, making sure to catch both sides of the t-shirt.

Step 5Pin right along the outline so that you have the outline of the smaller t-shirt pinned into the larger one.

Step 6Cut along the outside of the outline leaving a 1/2" margin.

Step 7Using a sewing machine sew along the outline removing the pins as you go.

Step 8Turn the t-shirt back inside out and you're all done.

I've used this for three of my shirts and I just love it. Geeky shirts only come in boy sizes and I love making them girl shirts. They go from barely worn into regular rotation.

awesome! i used to just guesse where to sew, so it would always end up to big or to small, i never relized that i could just put a shirt over it!
