My red version of shoe spats. Made by leatherette jacket sleeves
I cut out the sleeves of a leatherette jacket.
I wanted full length so I just cut the excess fabric near shoulders and did the same with the lining too. I tried them on many times to see how they fit better because I want to avoid sewing (is not my thing yet). I was very lucky! they fitted perfectly over my shoes so, I kept the lower part of the sleeve as it was and I unseamed the inner seams to make it fit better on my leg. I wrap it up around my leg and i used sticky tape to hold it. (Pins make holes to leather). I also tighten the lining and sew them both. I add a foam sheet between leatherette and lining because I didn't want to wrinkle that much. I glue the upper hem and sew a piece of elastic just in front of the heels to keep them in place. I don't recommend photo's outfit. Shorts or mini skirt are better.
