I got bored and designed it :)
It was boxing day, and i got bored. So i designed an apron. And i made it!

I hope the how-to is useful, because i've never made one before. Thanks for looking! :D x

  • Step 1

    First design the apron.

  • Step 2

Next get your measurements. You need the desired length. Your waist size and your side-to-side measurement. Take your waist size and add around 20-30cm for a bow.

  • Step 3

Next take your fabric, and cut it to the size you want it (Length X Waist-to-waist). Then round off the two bottom corners.

  • Step 4

Take one of your pieces of ribbon and pin it around the sides of the apron. Leave the top part un-pinned. You need to make sure you fold it over the edges so half of the ribbon is one side, and half is the other so it doesn't fray.

  • Step 5

Now sew this in place. Then take out the pins.

  • Step 6

Next fold over the top few cm over a couple of times so that the edges don't fray, then pin the other peice of ribbon on. You'll need to find the mid-point of the apron, and the mid-point of the ribbon so they are equal, and then pin from there.

  • Step 7

Once you've pinned everything, you'll need to sew them all (Obviously!)

  • Step 8

Now, get the piece of contrasting fabric and cut it to the size that you'd like the pocket. Then pin in place and sew.

  • Step 9

Stand back and admire your handiwork! Hopefully the sewing is better than mine, because my sewing machine broke halfway through and i had to hand sew the rest.

I hope you like it! :D
