Open your program and open the picture you are going to use. You are more than welcome to use the one uploaded here.

Now, once your picture is open your are going to click on Enhance photo> One step photo fix. Do this 3 times or until you get the right kind of painted contrast your looking for.

Click Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Automatic Saturation Enhancement. Select Less color>Strong then click okay. Your not gunna see much of a difference here but trust me. It will come in handy.

Next click Adjust>Brightness and Contrast>Automatic Contrast Enhancement. Select Darker>Normal>Bold and click okay.

Click Adjust>Color Balance> Strength>60 Remove Color Cast checked and set the temperature to 4650 then click okay.

Last step click Adjust>Softness>Soft focus. Softness>40% Edge Importance>71% Amount>40% Halo size>0% Halo visibility>0% De-select include scattered light. Then click okay.

Now, don't rely on these preferences alone for everything. Mess around with the lighting and colors. Try and come up with your own solutions.
