Semi-steampunk take on a candy tin

Basically the same idea as a lot of the Altoid tin decorating. Used fine grade steel wool to take off the paint. I used vinegar, salt and a few pennies to age the top. Just dabbed on vinegar, sprinked salt in various areas and threw in a few old pennies. Leave on til you get an effect you like. Rinse and dry. Decorate as you like. I went with a steampunk vibe with brads and watch gears and even used one of the pennies. :-)Depending on how long you keep the salt solution on and how much you decorate, it doesn't take long for this to come together.
