Take two pieces of fabric (I used black for the outside and purple for the inside)and cut out on each fabric the shape that you can see in the picture.

now take the two pieces and put them together with the nice sides of the fabric outside. fold in half and sew together along the red lines.

close the backside of your rat with running stitch and add a piece of string for the rat tail. sew a zipper in the area which we left open in step 2.

cut out 4 pieces of fabric for the ears. take two pieces and put them together with the nice sides of fabric inside. sew along the red line. turn them inside out and add the ears to the rat.

finally add two beads as eyes.
