Purple Hippie Skirt

Big-spin hippie skirt made from cotton and cordoroy with beaded details
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

Wow! This project turned out really great. It is made from quilters cotton in a purplw flower print. The waistband and side pocket are lined and done in a dark purple corduroy. A large flower is appliquéd on the front and a smaller one on the pocket. Both are double stitched and heat secured. On the larger appliqué I stitched iridescent white beads all around. Wow this took forever, but was totally worth it. The waistband has a flower chain stitch at the top in white as an accent. It ties in the back. There is a strip of lace cotton fabric at the bottom with the dark purple on both sides of it. The whole thing was my own creation, no patterns necessary!
