1. 

   Measure your Pullips head (If this is not for a pullip sub your own measuements in, obv:)). This DOES NOT have to be exact, so you can do it in terms of approx knitting needles rather than cm if you are lazy (i am).
   Make sure you measure from the back of your head where it meet the neck to above the eyebrows or it will be to small.

2. 

   Cast on as many stiches as your needles, yarn and measurements dictate. If you cast on like me, and split the stitch to make a new one remember it will stretch 150% when you start knitting, so make it shorter accordingly. Make sure you have an even number of stiches.




3. 

   Always put your yarn forward when changing from knit to purl (or purl to knit) or you'll end up with too many stiches.
   In the picture I began Knitting one purling one, but I meant to knit two purl two, and I start doing that after a few rows. You can do either, whichever you like most, or even both, like me. Always start Knitting at the start of each row. If you counted corectly you should end up with clear stripes after two or three rows.

4. 

   After a few rows you can start knitting one row and purling the next.




5. 

   When the hat is big enough(check by holding the bottom edge at the back of the head and the top edge (still on the needle) as far to the front as poss, and then flipping the bottom edge so it is on the forehead, without moving the other hand)
   Decrease every other stitch for two rows (knit/purl two together). Finish by cutting the yarn and threading it through the remaining stitches and using the tail to sew up the seam.
