    first you need a great lighting source, I have flash lighting and tungsten lamps, for this one I used my tungsten

    use a plain white or black cotton blaket as a backdrop

    I draped mine from my chest, and pulled it across the foor to create a seemless backdrop

    now to set it up,

    place your product on the middle

    put the lamp off to the side(right or left, depending on where you want the shadow to go)

    ----------------------

    if you don't want a shadow use a over head lamp

another cheap alternative (for the non-proffesional) is to simply photograph the product in the microwave (assuming it is small enough). the white background and even lighting make for a good setting for a product.

the microwave technique is probably better for websites like ebay or craigslist, not etsy or personal websites

Great idea!Im doing the same for my pictures,only I use my laptop to set my fabric on.
