  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Gather your materials.
Slice carefully with your shears up the middle of the can stopping at the metal end, repeat on the opposite side. Then carefully snip across from one slice to the other, leaving half the can attached to the metal bottom.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

It should look like this, but with a full circle at the bottom of the one half. Now I just used the shears I had, because I don't have a pair of tin snips, but You now want to cut across the metal disk so it's even with the can half.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

If that was confusing sounding, I made a paint pic.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Now take your snips, or shears and cut tiny slots in the metal end and one slot at the cardboard end, in the middle for your strings/cords/wire ect.
    Annnd you're done!

  5. Step 5

I decided after touching the edges of the metal bits to put masking tape over the metal so I wouldn't get cut.

I'm not sure how string and thread will fair against the metal edges so maybe this would be a good one for wire weaving?
