Pretzels with salt & cinnamon topping
These are easy to make pretzels.
The dough lends itself to a sweet or savoury topping.
They are worth the effort if your a pretzel fan.

You Will Need

Step 1Mix sugar, yeast & water together.
Set aside to ferment.

Step 2Add flour & salt to bowl.
Make a well in the centre.

Step 3Pour yeast mix into flour & knead together until a smooth dough is formed.

Step 4Cover with cling film & allow to prove for approx 40 mins.

Step 5When risen, remove & knead for a few mins.

Step 6Cut into small pieces.

Step 7Roll pieces into long lengths.

Step 8Twist dough into pretzel shapes.

Step 9Mix water & bicarbonate of soda together.

Step 10Dip each pretzel into water bath & place back onto baking sheet.
Pre Heat oven 220 degrees.

Step 11Sprinkle the salted pretzels with course salt & cook for 10 mins.
Leave the cinnamon pretzel without any topping for the moment.

Step 12Once cooked remove from oven & cool pretzels.

Step 13For cinnamon pretzel cook as before but when you remove them from the oven brush with melted butter & sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
