inspired by tank girl <3
I love Tank Girl. I love skirts. I love the idea of post-apocalyptic fashion, and I think this skirt sort of showcases all these things. (its also a good thing that I like messy stitching on my clothes, because I can't sew neatly for all that long!)

I won't bore you with all the details, but this is just an old XXL tshirt, with a little black cotton ribbing around the waist to help keep it up. I've never used stencils before this, so I kept the gasmask and the star simple - the letters are a set from a fabric store.

I did discover that if you don't happen to have one of those neat specialized sponge brushes made for stenciling around the house, you can use a foundation sponge (ya know, one of those little white triangle ones?) to the same basic effect. (I purposely made mine look a bit messed up to go with the overall look.)

This is cool. The gas mask stenciling actually reminds me of graffiti in Tel Aviv. :-P
