Yum! Har gow!

So...my family's from Southern China, and I was experimenting making whipped creams with different clay colors....and thought of this after seeing how translucent clay came out!

Soy sauce is made from brown watercolors painted after baking!

The other thing on the plate is siu maai!

Instructions

You Will Need

Project Cost
Cheap

  1. Step 1 1

Take a small amount of light pink and orange polymer clay and mix together

  2. Step 2 2

Form the mixed clay into a little ball (compared to a penny for reference)

  3. Step 3 3

Roll out the translucent polymer clay (it helps to have a bit of cornstarch brushed on with a paintbrush to keep it from sticking)

  4. Step 4 4

Place the ball of colored clay on the rolled out translucent clay

  5. Step 5 5

Cut out around the ball so you have enough clay to thinly fold over the ball completely (it looks a bit like ravioli now)

  6. Step 6 6

Roll into a ball, making sure no opaque pink-orange clay is on the outside

  7. Step 7 7

Use a rounded piece of wire to make markings, as you would with whipped creams

  8. Step 8 8

It should end up like this

  9. Step 9 9

Bake according to the instructions on the polymer clay packaging

  10. 10

You can make a bamboo steamer and attach them inside with TLS, or on a plate the same way
