I've always loved shoe boxes with polaroids on but the film costs soooooooo much these days! Luckily, I've come up with a cheap alternative which looks just as good!

First of all, you need to take nice photos of your shoes against a white background.
-
2
The photo will end up looking something like this, so opening it in Photoshop or any image editing program and perform some magic on it....
-
3
First, crank up the levels to make the image really white.
-
4
Then select all the areas that aren't white and fill them with white.
-
5
For the next step, you need an image of a polaroid. You can either scan one you already have or use my PDF - download the attachment up top!
-
6
Create a new layer and paste your polaroid image in to it.
-
7
Set the polaroid layer to "Multiply" in the settings and your shoes should appear through the little window.
-
8
Now you need to print these out. The easiest way is to go to a photo printing machine. If you use my template, you can do two polaroids per photo.
-
9
Cut these out neatly with a pair of scissors.
-
10
To make the polaroids look even more realistic, gently fold them over to create a slight crease.
-
11
This gives them a nice curve.
-
12
Place some double sided sticky tape on the back of your photos.
-
13
Stick to the front of your shoe box and you'll never forget what's in each box!

At first, I thought, man....that's gotta be annoying and expensive, but then I saw you weren't using actual polaroids! That is so cute. Sadly, I don't have enough room to save my shoes in the boxes. They're all in one big basket. That is an adorable idea though! I will definitely use the fakie polaroid idea for something else though!

Making the fake poloroid is a great idea, especially since they don't make poloroid film anymore, which is not cool =(
