I used a base coat of red nail polish for these nails, and the rest is acrylic paint, which does come off with nail polish remover. The paint actually stays on longer than regular nail polish, and if you get basic primary colors and black and white, you can mix to create whatever color of 'nail polish' you want! With a clear top coat of actual nail polish, the paint strokes don't even show.
