  1. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 1 1

You need a scarf that is wide enough to fit you, length depend whether you want it short or long. I recommend to use stretchy fabric.
Mine is sheer stretchy with lovely paisely prints.

  2. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 2 2

Fold scarf in half, and measure from shoulder to under-bust plus 1.5cm for seam allowance. Mark and cut along. This will be the bodice.

  3. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 3 3

Now, take the bodice, fold it in half and cut along.

  4. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 4 4

You would have two pieces of bodice

  5. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 5 5

Serge or zig-zag raw edges, fold along edges and sew.

  6. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 6 6

Join bodice to skirt, right sides together, leave 3cm for elastic casing ; match sides and pin towards middle, overlap two bodices to form deep V-neck, gather the loose middle. Sounds confusing? hope these pics clarify how-to.

  7. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 7 7

    It'd be like this:

  8. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 8 8

Repeat joining as above with the other bodice

  9. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 9 9

Sew both sides up to where you want the sleeve to be

  10. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 10 10

For the back, I overlap and sew along 10cm, but you can leave it as it is as deep-V

  11. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 11 11

Fold the casing downward and pull elastic in

  12. How to recycle a scarf dress. Plunge Tunic Made From Scarf - Step 12 12

And, here it is..your new plunge tunic. You sure are a beach-chic with this.
