  • Step 1

Using exacto knife, cut a round band/strip (use "seam" as guide to form edges) from a plastic bottle that fits around the wrist (and maybe over the hand) with at least an extra inch.

  • Step 2

Use a ruler and permanent marker to make sure the edges are straight and even, and cut with the sturdy scissors.

  • Step 3

    OPTION ONE:
Measure ribbon to length of plastic strip/band, cutting as many as needed to fit width of the plastic strip/band. (I have use two or even three "strands" of ribbon").

    OPTION TWO:
Cut an exceptionally long length of ribbon or yarn to wrap around the plastic strip/band.

  • Step 4

Add small pieces/dabs of double-sided tape or strong glue to the outside of the plastic strip/band, and place the "strands" of ribbon onto the plastic - If you are using multiple "strands", you may need to overlap the ribbon a little to make the pattern seamless/make the ribbon fit the width.

  • Step 5

Cut out desired felt decorations and gather the buttons you want to use, and glue/sew them onto the ribbon covered plastic - It may seem hard, but the plastic gives quite easily with a tiny bit of coaxing.

  • Step 6

Measure felt to length and width of plastic and cut out.

  • Step 7

Add small pieces/dabs of double-sided tape or strong glue to the inside of the plastic strip/band, and place the felt lining onto the plastic to cover the stitches (and even the wrapped ribbon/yarn if that was the chosen option) BUT keep one end loose from the plastic.

  • Step 8

FOR THOSE WHO CHOSE TO MAKE A PLASTIC STRIP:
With the loose end, place one side of the velcro circles centered at the edge, and (depending on the stickiness of the velcro back) sew onto end, then tape/glue the end onto the plastic; adding the other side of the velcro dot centered and at the edge of the ribbon side.

  • Step 9

    OPTIONAL:
Using more thread, with the needle, sew around the edges of the entire piece (and even the other velcro circle if desired) - I choose to do so for decoration/personal touch and helping to ensure that the ribbon and felt do not slide around if the tape/glue were to decide to "fail".
