Both my boyfriend and I planted them in the dreary winter and now they are beautiful!

Buy a children's, or adult size boot and make sure you can take out the padding (so that it is entirely rubber or plastic).

Put a bunch of pebbles at the bottom of the boot, filling the entire foot part so that just the ankle/leg part is empty. (this will help drain the water so that your soil doesn't rot)

Fill up boot with soil almost all the way to the top and plant your plants! Spider plants are perfect for this because they grow outward and eventually down.

Don't water too often! Since it has no holes at the bottom, you don't want to over water it because your plants might die or rot. I water mine every 10 or so days.

I want to try this, do you think putting holes in the bottom may help drain the water and keep the soil from rotting?
