Pink Ribbon Brooch

  • Completed Project: Pink Ribbon Brooch Picture #1

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month!

As it is October, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought it necessary to share this brooch, which lives on my school bag. I whipped it up last year during a viewing of "Labyrinth", so it won't take you much time at all!

Add to Favorites Add Your Version

  1. Step 1

Fold a piece of felt in half and pin. Draw the outline of the ribbon shape onto your felt. You may want to make a paper template first, but that's up to you and your artsy skills.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the shape of the ribbon.

  3. Step 3

Embellish on piece of the felt with sequins and beads. Attach your pin to the other piece of felt, making sure the sides will match up correctly when you put them together.

  4. Step 4

Sew the two pieces together with blanket stitch because it is pretty! Pin anywhere and shout out your support!

Oh I love this so much...I want to make it x 2...for myself, but mostly for my dearest BF, who is a Breast Cancer Survivor. Thank you for posting this, it is so pretty and different than any ribbon I have seen! :-)

ps jojobeandesigns, Can you please tell me what you used for the blanket stitch? Even blown up, I cannot see it. Did you use pink yarn? Thank you!

mamachka - I used pink embroidery floss for the blanket stitch, which I will now add to the list of needed items. Thanks for all of the compliments!
