During the winter months the birds benefit from a little helping hand from their human friends. In return we get to watch them hop and fly about in our gardens x
1
Gather your ingredients, placing the seeds in a tray or bowl and protecting your work surface from the grease.
2
Tie a piece of string onto the end of a pine cone.
3
Cover the cone in lard, suet or peanut butter using a knife. Squash int into the grooves of the pine cone and cover completely.
4
Now roll the pine cone into your seeds, squashing and pushing them into the fat to give a generous coating.
5
The pine cone bird feeder is now ready. Make several at once and then tie outside...to trees or anything else in your garden and watch the birds enjoy their feast...x
