This is adapted from another tutorial I found which I couldn't make work, so I've made it easier.
I made these as Phantom of the Opera earrings but you can use whatever image you like. They make great sized, light earrings, perfect for presents

Drill the holes! I can't tell you what kind of drill I used as I don't have a clue, but you'll know if it's small enough to go through but big enough to fit a jump ring through. You'll need to hold the bottlecap in the pliers again, over a block of wood and drill straight down through the rim
(I don't have a picture of me doing it with the bottlecaps, so just imagine that simcard is a bottlecap haha)

i make these all the time, but i just use jewelry pliers to fold back the sides of the cap instead of a hammer. I've never gotten them to flatten out for me on wood. instead of drilling holes in them, i just use a small nail and hammer it in. The hole isn't as neat, but it's finctional, and it doesn't snag. My problem is, what kind of glue do you use? I've been using mod podge, but i've tried several others, and they all leave bubbles in the glue after it's dried. :( The tutorial i originally got the idea from said to use diamond glaze, but it's uber expensive, and i think you can only get it online.

I think you may have the same tutorial as me =P I thought a hammer and nail would make a rough hole, and a drill would be easier.
I use the two glues in picture six - UHU glue to stick it down, then this gloss on top. It's called "Liquitex Gloss Medium and Varnish". I have no idea how much it was, either my mum got it from the school she works at or my sister used it on her graphic design course, but it was works well
