Cut gold paper into strips 2" wide.

Cut 2 inch lengths into strips 1/2 inch wide.

Cut yarn into 4 inch lengths

Gather enough strips to look like a broom and place around pencil's unsharpened end.

Wrap yarn around to secure and tie off
