I had a lot of cut out fabric squares left from sewing a quilt and was happy to find a tutorial for a patchwork skirt. This project is a bit time consuming (I zig-zaged the edges of each patch, which took me ages), but it's well worth it. My skirt has an open elastic waist band with a button, but you may just as well just use just an elastic.
