I found the pattern for this cute pillow online a couple of years ago.
It was my first attempt at patchwork.

  • Step 1

Cut out The required amount of fabric squares. They can be old or new fabric and whatever size you want.
I used 3.5inch squares for the pillow in the picture.
    You will need 92 squares.
You will also need a tongue shape cut from red felt if you want to add one.

  • Step 2

Pin together the pieces in to the shape on the pattern. x2, one for the front and one for the back of the pillow and pin the rest of the squares in a long line used to join the back and front.

  • Step 3

Sew all of the edges together in the shape of the pattern for the back and front of the pillow.

  • Step 4

sew the long line of squares to be used to join the back to the front.

  • Step 5

Sew the joining band of squares to join the front and back adding a felt tongue if required.
Leave a couple of squares unsown for the stuffing.

  • Step 6

Stuff and close up the last couple of squares and add a button on each side for the eyes.

I saw a similar pillow on an old craft magazine (dated 1960's)and I remember having fun doing it on 6th grade. Thanks for posting this...
