Patatas Bravas

A delicious Spanish dish of spiced potatoes, usually served as a tapas.

Description 

<center><u>(Serves Two)</a></u></center><br> Part of the<br><div class="tagline"><img align="absmiddle" src="/blog/images/icons/globe.gif" /><a href="/blog/reference.php?id=344">Spanish</div></a> cuisine masterclass.<br><br> This is a traditional Spanish recipe that is usually served as a Tapas. Patatas being Spanish for potatoes and Bravas being the type of sauce that it is served as.


Instructions 
  1. 1
    Step 1

    Clean and peal two potatoes, chop them in to 1" cubes.


  2. 2
    Step 2

    Add a few drops of oil to a frying pan and saute the onion and garlic until soft.


  3. 3
    Step 3

    Remove from the heat and add the thyme, Tabasco sauce and paprika.


  4. 4
    Step 4

    Place in a bowl and mix in the mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.

    Step 5

    Pour the remaining oil in to the frying pan and fry the potatoes until soft and golden.

    Step 6

    Drain the potatoes, mix in with the sauce and serve hot.

Both words are correct
but I'm spanish, and the word "papas" is not frequently used, here we use "patatas" always :)

BTW, good recipe, thanks ^^

Don't be so quick to correct someone.
Papas is Spanish slang for patatas, & is more commonly used. I lived there & know this for a fact. =D

Yes, they are called patatas bravas, I ate plenty of them while in Spain. We also have a tapas bar here in town and they have the same thing. So delicious!!

Nuhbe.... Patatas = potatoes in SPAIN.. so.. since it's a Spanish recipe - Patatas Bravas. =D

Great!!! It's funny find recipes in spanish ^^
But I think it would be better say "Papas Bravas" ;)
