Every year for Christmas my family has a different theme. Dunno how that started, but one year was underwear, one was plants, and 2007 was Disney. I'm not a Disney fan, but my mom and I spent a couple weeks working on a *giant* papier mache Mickey Mouse head. So, I had papier mache on the brain when I was trying to think of presents to make my boyfriend, because I'm poor. Had a Pringle can stump leftover from a some bangle bracelets I almost made, so that became the base of the green shroom. The top is papier mache over a wad of newspapers with the Pringle lid stuck inside. A few days later my mom and I were done Mickey and had half of a papier mached balloon leftover from making his snout. So that became the dome of the larger red shroom which I made for my friend Nate. The red one has a coffee can for a base. The paint for the bases was leftover from Mickey; apparently that's the color of paint you get if you go into Home Depot and ask for a can of "Mickey Flesh Paint".
