I used a balloon for the head, measuring mine first, I blew it up till it measured actual size. I then took the pot and cut the bottom off and attached the balloon with masking tape to the pot. I Ripped old newspaper into 1inch wide strips, dipped the newspaper into paste and layed it all over the balloon and pot.

When it had dried I gave it 2 coats of spray paint.
