Beautiful roses that never wilt

i made this for a long time family friend whos birthday was coming up. hope you like it!

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

start with a pencil and whatever color cardstock you like.

  2. Step 2 2

draw a spiral on the paper. for this rose i drew a very large spiral. but you can make whatever size you want. the bigger the spiral, the longer it takes to roll it up and the longer you have to hold onto it.

  3. Step 3 3

start cutting! once you get to the middle, try to leave that little rounded part, don't cut it. you'll need that later. don't worry about following the pencil marks or erasing the pencil either.

  4. Step 4 4

with the marked side of the spiral facing up, start rolling. i found it helped to keep the roll as tight as you could.

  5. Step 5 5

keep rolling... i was watching jay leno while i did this.

  6. Step 6 6

this is what it should look like when its all rolled up.

  7. Step 7 7

this is when you use that little rounded nub at the end of the spiral. push up the nub and grab your glue gun (that should already be hot) and fill the hole with hot glue. put the nub over the hole, kind of like a cap. then (because the glue is very hot) flip it over on a table and press the very middle of the rose, the center, into the hot glue and hold. i messed up the first three that i made until i got the hang of it.

  8. Step 8 8

Ta-Da! all done. ... with one of them :)

  9. Step 9 9

because anything that has to do with crafts needs to be done in odd numbers, i made nineteen of these flowers.

  10. Step 10 10

heres the bouquet! i took bendable floral wire, bent it in half and twisted. i left a small loop at the one end and used my glue gun to put it on the bottom of the flower. put 'em together and you have a bouquet!
