cranes paper mobile
I did this because I'm redecorating my room, and I've vowed to make all the decorations and decor. I'm going to share those with you so you don't have to overpay either! Sorry there are no tutorial pictures, but there is an end result picture!

  • Step 1

Twist the hook of one of the hangers around the base of the other and insert one hanger into the other. It should look like a cross if you did it right.

  • Step 2

Set that aside. Go to www.origami-fun.com/origami-crane.html and get the crane tutorial. It's very simple. Make four of these out of the magazine paper. Use the fifth to make the middle swirl: cut a circle, about four inches in diameter, and draw a swirl, starting with the outer edge and swirling to the center. Cut along the line.

  • Step 3

Using the hole puncher (preferable hand held, but you can use the corner of a three-hole punch) and punch a hole into the triangle at the very top of your crane. Make sure to get it near the base so its stronger. Punch a hole in the top of the swirl.

  • Step 4

Thread one piece of thread (they should be about 6 inches in length) through the hole and pull until the two pieces are the same length. Tie a knot and pull the knot all the way down to the crane. This is kind of tricky: Tie the ends around the corner of the hanger. Make sure you don't pull it all the way up, or the crane won't hang down. Do this with the other three cranes on the other corners and the swirl, but the swirl goes in the middle.
