My own take and pattern off of angelichigo's wonderful, adorable Sleeper Boots!!
It took me a lot of time to put this together, along with help w/ a pattern from my father. I think they're (almost) as cute as the originials!! <3 I just HAD to have them :)

P.S. It's NOT a difficult process, it just took a little bit of patience and thinking! Just follow my lead, I put it as simply as I made them. A lot to read, but well worth it! Feel free to post any questions if you don't understand!

Step 1
MIND YOU! These supplies shown in THIS picture, is the amount it will take to make 1 shoe.

From top left: Extra fabric for the INSIDE of the shoe.

Next: sole of a fuzzy flip flop slipper, without the fabric thong.

Next: This is the bottom of the shoe, note the sole-tracing in blue, on the inside.

Next: Two peices of felt that will be the heel of the shoe.

Next: The top of the shoe, it's a single piece of white felt.

Bottom left: Doubled over piece of felt, this is the neck of the boot, this makes up most of it. make sure the width is the height you will want the boot to be, relative to your leg.

Next: Long piece of white felt, two pieces, The same size. This is the tongue of the shoe!

Next: Two white buttons for the eyes!

About 1 and a yard foot of white ribbon for the lace!
Step 2
First step is to combine the 2nd and 3rd piece from above. You're going to make the bottom of the boot! (How exciting!)

Lay the sole on top of a piece of white felt. leave about an inch all the way around it, and cut it out.
Step 3
First Pic: Make sure you hot glue the fabri to the bottom of it.

Second Pic: After you glue it all the way around, fold the fabric in, and glue it again.
Step 4
Okay! Lets start sewing our parts!

So this is the heel piece. Mind you this is TWO peices of fabric, being sewn together. I will sew along the bow, then flip inside out, to give it a nice edge.

Then sew again, about an inch down, to give the heel, the pillow-y edge!
Step 5
Do the same process with the tounge of the shoe. It's shapped funny because the rounded part will go under the panda face..I'll explain that more when we get there! You don't have to pillow the whole thing, just most of the square part, the part that is outside the shoe!
Step 6
Next part to work on is the back of the boot!

This is the biggest piece of the boot. Make sure, when you double this piece over. that you leave one peice shorter than the other. you will be attaching the longer piece TO the boot.

Pillow the edge like you did on the other pieces!
Step 7
Alright now we are going to attach the heel to the back of the boot. place the longer side of the boot down so it is on the table. The shorter side will be ontop. Hot glue the whole heel pad to the boot.

NOTE: Notice in this picture the sides of the heel peice hang off a little, thats okay if it does (not too much!) because you can just glue this to the sole of the boot!
Step 8
Take the longer side of the boot and attach it to the raised edge of the boot. This allows the shorter side, (where the heel piece meets the bottom of the shorter side) to be attached directly on top of the raised edge. This allows it to look like a single piece.
Step 9
After that step, it should look like this!
Step 10
Now to make the panda face! take the foot/toe piece and attach it to the raised edge, toe piece on the INSIDE of the raised edge!
Step 11
When that step is done it should look like this!!

Note the tabs on the inside! This is just to give it extra support to stay in place, you can keep as much or as little of the tab there, just glue down what you want there!
Step 12
Awesome! Almost done!! (Not really-haha)

Stuffing time!! stuff it almost all the way, just make sure there is room to squeeze your foot in!!
Step 13
Okay, I feel like this part will be a little difficult to explain so it will have a few pictures to show you.

The tongue of the shoe is just that the tongue. But also what holds the stuffing to the top of the shoe, creating a pocket for your foot to slide in.

This picture shows what the tongue does for the shoe. Make sence? Next step!
Step 14
Since the tongue was so thick, I cut off ONE of the rounder pieces on the bottom so it would leave more room for the foot and the stuffing. <3

First step to tucking in the tongue.
Step 15
after it is tucked in, it should look like this!! You can straighten it a little to get rid of the wrinkled creases!
Step 16
Now fold down a little edge of the foot/toe piece, and hot glue it directly to the tongue, this keeps the tongue in place and gives it a solid look.
Step 17
Loop and lace time!!

I took some scrap multi colored fabric I had to do do this with. I will also use this to make the sole cover!

about 2.5-3 inch long strips, folded over and hot glued!
Step 18
Glue them on to the boot!! Make sure its on the inside
Step 19
Lace it up!

I painted on the face, eyes and mouth/nose combo with black acrylic paint!

Hot glue the buttons on for eyes!
Step 20
Now to make the tail! Depends on the size you want, I used about a 4-5 inch circle, filled it w/ stuffing and handsewed/hotglued it closed! Paint it black and tack it on the back!!
Step 21
Make ears!

Sew a couple heel piece shapped little pieces and sew them, flip it inside out, paint it black and hot glue them to the boots!
Step 22
Last step which I didn't take a picture for, is to put the sole piece in! I show you the general outline of what it looks like in Step 1. Just place it inside the shoe and hotglue around the bottom! It covers up all the imperfections of the lining. <3
Step 23
And on the 23rd step, put them on and enjoy!! You've officially made your own Panda Sleeper Boots!
