Step 1
Gather your materials to start creating your painted kitchen utensils!
Step 2
Measure and mark with a pencil 5 inches from the top of each utensil. Place the your painters tape around the utensil where you have your 5 inch mark.
Step 3
Firmly press around the edges of the painter's tape so that paint will not leak under the tape when painting.
Step 4
Using the colors of your choice, apply the paint to each wooden utensil handle. Make sure to paint away from the tape so that paint does not go underneath the painter's tape.
Step 5
Place your painted wooden utensils on a cookie rack to help them dry faster and to prevent making a mess.
Step 6
Take the small paintbrush and paint the inside of the small hole found at the end of each handle.
Step 7
Once the first coat is dry, apply the second coat of paint. Immediately take off the painter's tape after the second coat is applied so that the paint does not peel off with the painter's tape.
Step 8
Once the second coat has dried, apply two coats of polycrylic to each utensil about 1/2 an inch past the paint.
Step 9
Display the utensils in your kitchen!
