The best DIYs are usually the simplest.
Whether it is a fresh coat of paint or an updated design detail, it can make an overlooked item come back to life. Using masking tape and paint, I painted black stripes on fabric bins and I love the way they turned out. The best part was this project was done during Max’s afternoon nap (and he is a 30 min napper!).Here are the simple steps to painting stripes on fabric bins.

  • Step 1

Measure the height of the bin and decide how many stripes you want. The bins I used were 13" tall and I wanted 6 stripes (2.17" per stripe).

Use a pencil to lightly mark the stripes and tape it off. Press along the edge of the tape for a tight seal so paint doesn’t seep through.

Use a sponge brush and paint. Avoid using heavy brush strokes along the tape seams because paint might seep through. After the paint has dried, remove tape. It’s that easy! NOTE Initially I used black spray paint, but spray paint ran very heavily.
