  • How to make a votive / candle holder. Painted Candle Holders - Step 1
    Step 1

    Organize supplies:
I got some cheap votive holders at evil super-giant Wal-Mart and used some paints that were sitting around. For the painting tools I chose a sponge and a sponge-like brush.

    Step 2

I taped off one of the candle holders with some masking tape and proceeded to paint over the entire surface with a sponge-tipped brush.

    Step 3

For the other holders I used a sponge to sponge-paint. I think that these came out the best looking out of the two methods.

    Step 4

Let paint dry and you have some new candle holders. This is one of the sponge-paint examples.

P.S. They look much cooler in real life than in the photos.

the 3rd one looks pretty awsome. I bet it would look cool with lots of different colors. (=
