Step 1Cut out a front and back owl body shape from light and dark tweed fabric.

Step 2Cut out the owl's face shape using the lighter tweed to the front of your owl.

Step 3Cut out two large circles from white fleece for the eyes and pin them in place on to the face shape.

Step 4Sew around the outside of the eyes.

Step 5Pin the owl face to the front of the owl body.

Step 6Sew in place.

Step 7Iron interfacing on the back of all of your floral fabric scraps - this will stop it from fraying.
Draw around the nose template on to the interfacing side of the floral fabric.

Step 8Cut the nose out and pin in between the eyes.

Step 9Sew in place with a zig-zag stitch.

Step 10Draw around the feather template on to the lighter tweed fabric.

Step 11Cut out a big pile of tweedy feathers. You'll need lots and lots of these.

Step 12Layer the feathers up on the owl in the shape of a wing.

Step 13Cut out some contrasting feathers from your floral fabric, and place these throughout the wing, tucking them under the tweed feathers.

Step 14Cut out two smaller circles of floral fabric for the inner eyes.

Step 15Row by row, sew all the feathers in place.

Step 16Place two large black buttons on top and sew in place.

Step 17Sew lots of small pearly buttons on the owl's tummy for decoration.

Step 18Right sides facing, place the back body piece on top of the front and pin around the edges.

Step 19Sew around the outline of the owl, leaving a few inches unstitched and the very bottom.

Step 20Turn the owl right side out, making sure to get it's ears all unfolded.

Step 21Fill with stuffing until the owl becomes a comfy cushion.

Step 22Fold the bottom unstitched edge under and sew closed.

Step 23All done! Pop the owl on your bed...

Step 24or on the sofa. They're great to cuddle up with when watching movies.
