Origami Crane Earrings

  • Completed Project: Origami Crane Earrings Picture #1

Recycling never looked so good

I saw this crane earrings in a magazine once, I just fell in love and had to have some of my own. Sadly, I didn't have any origami paper so I use a the wrapping off of a tasty starburst.

Those are gorgeous. Would it be possible to post a how-to for making cranes out of starburst wrappers?

did you just leave them or did you cover them in vanish or something. I made a pair of these for a friend about 6 months ago and now they are looking a bit worse for wear.

I made some origami crane earrings and you can cover them with modge podge or spray them with some acrylic sealer. I know you can even dip origami pieces in certain waxes to preserve them too. (:

I think I can handle making a how to. I just need to use one of my friend's cameras >_< Mines evil and eats batteries to fast (Its 8 years old)

I did drip them in a clear gloss polyurethane... It took almost 3 days for each thin coat to dry because the wrapper has this wax on it. But they are now kinda hard and have a ceramic look to them. Also the polyurethane turned the white parts of the wrapper a little yellow but it dosen't look bad

Now that´s a good idea. I used to make a lot of them, but never thought of using them as earrings. Very cute :3
