Orange + Cinnamon Soap

Smell and taste delicious by making yourself some orange and cinnamon soap.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Break up two bars of soap in to small chunks. You can grate the soap but I blended mine in a bean grinder to make it powder like.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Put the soap in to a plastic jug and place in to a pan of boilng water. Leave to cook in the pan for about 20 minutes. The soap will go soft.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Add the olive oil and mix in well. Place back in the pan and leave to cook for another 15 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Add the orange rind, vanilla oil, cinnamon and mix.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Pour the soap in to a mold and flatten and compact it with your fingers.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Leave to set for about 5 days. The soap will be hard and compact. Remove the soap from its mold and cut in to square slabs.

Gosh! I thought it said orange and cinnamon soup, and I was thinking, hang on, that sounds kinda gross, and then I saw that it was solid and therefore not soup. I need to get my eyesight checked.

Wicked awesome idea, much easier than making soap totally from scratch. Bf has tons of herbs and oils, so I could probably do some other combinations too.

Hmm, I have sensitive skin and it's fine for me. I'd suggest testing it on a small area of your skin first, such as your hand to see if it flares up.
