This pattern is in Debbie Stoller's Stitch'n Bitch Nation. It's called Om Yoga Mat Bag and the pattern is by Stephanie Mrse. The bag was a lot of fun to knit. The lace stitch was new to me and easy to follow. I used a cotton yarn.

i made something like this for my yogo mat ages ago i made mine out of fabric and it has started ripping i might try this method out cos it looks awesome
