  • How to make a hair mask. Olive Oil & Citron Hair Mask - Step 1
    Step 1

    You need:
    * olive oil
    * 1/2 citron
    * a glass
    * a spoon

  • How to make a hair mask. Olive Oil & Citron Hair Mask - Step 2
    Step 2

    Put about two or three spoons (depends on the length of your hair) of olive oil in a glass, or some other pot and just squeeze the citron into. The olive oil helps to soften your hair, make it shiny and it also nourishes it. The acid in the lemon highlights your hair naturally.
    Now your hair mask is ready ....

  • Step 3

    Put the mixture in your dry hair and leave it in for about half an hour up to one hour.
    Just put it into your lengths and avoid the hair line.
    Wash it out with your normal shampoo, usually one time is enough. Use your normal styling products and get you hair dry.
    You can use it as often as you want until you are satisfied with the new highlights in your hair.

Uh... Oops! *embarrassed* guess I should have read the comments first! (Just b/c the picture looks like a[n American] lemon doesn't mean they don't have a similar--but not the same--fruit in Germany?) Sorry! ("o )

If you will forgive a foolish question, kleiner schatz, is the "citron" what Americans call a "lemon?" (I think so) Would it be all right to use either?

It sounds like a wonderful idea--summer is coming so I found this at the perfect time!

Thanks! ("v )

If you color your hair a dark color, I would just be careful doing this. The acid in the lemon will start to dull the hair color and lift it out. Also, any lemon that gets left in your hair will cause it to lighten and high light if you go out in the sun/heat. Putting lemon in your hair is a good way to pull out natural highlights. But if you don't want your black dye job to fade more quickly, I would leave out the lemon.
