Oldschool Beer Crates To Super Functional Shelves

  • Completed Project: Oldschool Beer Crates To Super Functional Shelves Picture #1

wire brush and paint will do the job!

My mom also used these beer crates for shelves when she was young. So they've had all kinds of colors through the years. Originally they were green and yellow Carlsberg beer crates :)

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Use a wire brush, soap and water to get loose painting and dirt off.
Let the wood dry for a couple of days.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Paint the crates with white paint. I used some relatively cheap acrylic paint.. and two layers to get it to cover entirely.
Let it dry... do the other crates.
Put them on top of each other.. et voila! Shelves!

All of your things look really pretty in them, especially the shoes. These remind me of the cubbies we got from Ikea that cost loads and yours look just as good!

Maybe you can be lucky to find some at flea markets or something :) Or second hand shops for furniture. I see them once in a while here :)

Wow! Love how classy you actually made them look, with the white paint and all. Definitely one to keep in mind when I get around to redecorating
