Tulle - 2 Yards Of Each Color But You Probably Won't Use It All.
Elastic
Measuring Tape
Strong Quilting Needle
Thread - I Use White
A Clip - Optional, I Use It To Hold The Elastic Together.
Take Your Elastic & Measure It To The Length You'd Like It To Be.
This Is Usually A Waist Measurement That Someone Has Given Me Because I Don't Make These For Myself.
Clip Or Hold The Ends Together & Sew Them. It Doesn't Have To Look Perfect Just Make Sure It's Secure.
Take Your Tulle & Cut It Into Strips.
For This One I Used Bright Blue, Green, Purple, & Hot Pink.
I Stretch My Elastic Across The Back Of A Chair.
Or If You're Making A Small One, For Say A Child, You Can Stretch Around Your Thigh.
Fold The Strips In Half & Loop It Around The Elastic By Pulling The Ends Through The Loop.
Keep Repeating Step 6 With As Many Colors As You Choose.
I'm Choosing To Use 2 Of Each Color To Make The Colors More Prominent.
Keep Adding And Adding And Adding...
Here's The Final Product.
This Was Made For A 32 Inch Waist But Will Stretch To Much Larger.
Ooh!
I've seen a lot of tutu How-To's but this is the only one I've seen that explains how to do it with elastic waist bands.
Thanks for posting this, I've been curious!

Yeah, I Tried Ribbon But The Elastic Seemed Easier & I've Found It To Be Especially When You Don't Know An Exact Size Of The Person You're Making It For.
