Project Cost
Almost Nothing

  1. 1

Take a night gown, any color, silk will give the best effect.

Put the straps on your shoulder and determine which length you would like your handbag to be.

  2. 2

When you decide which length you want the handbag to be, cut of the rest of the dress/gown. Make sure you still have room to properly hem the handbag on the bottom.

My version was not lined, but off course you can add lining if you want to.

  3. 3

After cutting the extra material on the bottom off, turn dress inside out and sew both ends together. Make sure it is secure enough, you never know what you're going to put in the bag :)

  4. 4

Either use the straps still attached to the dress or take two other straps and sew those in position where you want to. Make sure they are secure.

Et voila! A perfect silk handbag. Depending on the occasion you can use a different color of silk. White for wedding perhaps? :)Also great as gift!
