Newsboy Cap
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

Giftmas present for my roomie's 2.5 year old. He's getting a lot of dress up clothes for giftmas, so now he can dressup as a little old man I guess.

I used an old pair of pants for the hat and an old black tee shirt for the inside lining.

Notes/Pattern: I used Burda pattern 9587 View C. The only thing I did different was insert a four inch strip of elestic extend and sew over so it has a stretchy back. I used a card board box piece for the brim and it was flimsy enough I sewed through it to attach the folded over portion of the hat. And my lining is an old tee shirt a friend left at my place forever ago.

The pattern said this was easy, but I considered it a little difficult, maybe its just me.

It is wonderful that you have made such a nifty looking hat for your roomies son to play dress up in and encourage imaginative play.

The hat looks very well made and I am sure he will get a lot of use out of.
