I made this during the summer because I didn't really have anywhere to hang my necklaces. You can also hang other jewelry like rings and bracelets! I covered mine with pictures from old magazines. I used a cheap glue stick to glue my pictures one. But you can use your own pictures or paint it. You can do whatever you want :]
Materials (it wouldn't show up in that box):
-Shoe box lid
-nails (length/size depend on you)
-hot glue gun
Optioinal:
-magazine cutouts
-glue stick
-ruler
-paint
If you want pictures of the steps just ask. I'll warn you now that they won't be really clear because my camera was stolen, so all I have is the camera from my phone which isn't very good.

Get your shoe box top and have the inside of the top facing up.
Mark where you want your nails to be. You can use a ruler if you want to line it up.(I just eyeballed it)

OPTIONAL:
Decorate it! Glue your pictures/paint it/whatever you decide to do.

After you decorate it, take a nail or anything other sharp object and puncture the place you marked for your nail to go.
(Don't make the hole too big)
Prep your hot glue gun.

After you made your holes, have the top of the lid face you and take a nail and stick the pointy end of the nail through the hole.
I had a little more than half of the nail stick up on the top side. -

Take the hot glue gun and on the pointy end of the nail, glue around the nail and the hole to support the necklace.
Hold it in place until it is dry.
Repeat for the rest of the holes! -

And display it! I used two nails and put it on my wall.
