Nautical Bow Vest

From plain vest top to nautical vest top!

I saw a nice top on the internet and decided to recreate one for myself.
This is my first how-to, I hope it makes sense!

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Get your top and fabric, my top was just a cheap Primark find and I cadged the fabric.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Cut a piece of fabric (10" x 7" approx) and lay it across the top section of the vest.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Sew the fabric to the top, making sure it's even on either side of the stitches.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Pin the fabric to the top, tucking the frayed edge under, and sew using a neat backstitch. Repeat on the other side.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Pin and sew on a small square of fabric (1.5" x 1.5") to the middle of the bow, fold and sew as before.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Taa Daa! All done :)
