I found someone awesome on here with their own version of an 8 bit heart (still learning this site sorry if I've done this wrong) and I instantly fell in love with the idea and decided to make my own version following her steps. I've compared the size with my felt Mr Tux penguin!
1
I started with following the other awesome crafter on here by the same sizes for my squares and marking out how many I would need with a little drawn graph.
3cm x 3cm for the squares.
2
I then marked up on a peice of paper the right sizes for my squares and pinned it to the felt so I could easily cut them out.
3
All my squares having a party, ready to be made into the heart!
4
I did this to help plan it out when hand sewing it together.
5
I decided to sew them in two parts, front and back, before putting them all together.
So many squares!
I stuffed it at the last moment, leaving only 3 square sides open to fill all the filling in.
6
This is the outcome of the red side of my 8 bit heart, I added a while square like the original idea.
7
I also added a white square to the back of the heart so it is double sided.
It was tricky to stitch up neatly after filling it, but I'm very happy with how it turned out!
