Mulled Wine

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Pour a bottle of red wine in to a pan and place over a medium heat. Add some water.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Add the orange juice.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Add the sugar and a few teaspoons of mixed spice or cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir and leave to heat up for 10 minutes. Make sure that the mixture doesn't start to boil.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Pour in the brandy.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Chop up the fruit, stir it in and serve hot.

I wouldn't suggest storing the wine for any period longer than you would keep an open bottle of wine for, a day or two at most. You should really prepare this just before you serve it.
